Be Prepared for Class

  • Field runs start at the time stated above. Please arrive a few minutes early to complete sign-in procedures.
  • CAA smoke schools are digital - bring a fully-charged smart phone or tablet. Extra devices will be available for use if you do not have a mobile device.

Smoke School Duration

  • One-Day Smoke Schools: Field certification ends when attendees who arrived at the start time are certified, or no longer wish to attempt to become certified.
  • Two-Day and Three-Day Smoke Schools: Field certification runs until the stated end time; students still requiring certification will come back for the subsequent day(s) of class. The final day of smoke school ends when attendees who arrived at the start time are certified, or no longer wish to attempt to become certified.

SELF-PACED LECTURE (default format)

CAA's self-paced lecture fulfills EPA Method 9 requirements and is approved by TCEQ for Texas students.

    •  PRICING  Registrations received within less than 7 days from the start of class will be assessed a $25 late fee.

    Field Certification Smoke School: $225
    Self-Paced Lecture Course: $50

     SESSION NOTES  This is a TWO DAY school that offers both the lecture and the field certification. It meets at the Quality Inn located at 2751 Hwy 71 E Austin TX. On the FIRST DAY registration for the lecture begins at 7:00 am so that the lecture can begin promptly at 7:30 am. A light lunch will be served. The field runs begin at 2:00 pm. On the SECOND DAY the field runs begin at 8:00 am. The school will be considered CLOSED when all the employees who were present at 8:00 am have passed. Those who are field certifying (ONLY) are encouraged to test on the SECOND day; however, if there are shift or scheduling problems, you are welcome on the FIRST day.


    DIRECTIONS: Quality Inn-Airport from 183/Hwy71: take 71 E/Bastrop Hwy. Take the exit for the Austin-Bergstrom Int. Airport. Merge onto E State Hwy 71 Service Rd. Take a left on Presidential Blvd. turn slightly right becoming Cardinal Loop. Continue on Shepard Ln. Take a left on Flow Ln and the 1st right onto Del Valle St.
