Be Prepared for Class

  • Field runs start at the time stated above. Please arrive a few minutes early to complete sign-in procedures.
  • CAA smoke schools are digital - bring a fully-charged smart phone or tablet. Extra devices will be available for use if you do not have a mobile device.

Smoke School Duration

  • One-Day Smoke Schools: Field certification ends when attendees who arrived at the start time are certified, or no longer wish to attempt to become certified.
  • Two-Day and Three-Day Smoke Schools: Field certification runs until the stated end time; students still requiring certification will come back for the subsequent day(s) of class. The final day of smoke school ends when attendees who arrived at the start time are certified, or no longer wish to attempt to become certified.

SELF-PACED LECTURE (default format)

CAA's self-paced lecture fulfills EPA Method 9 requirements and is approved by TCEQ for Texas students.

    Field Certification Smoke School: $200
    Self-Paced Lecture Course: $50

     SESSION NOTES  This ONE DAY school, sponsored by Air/Compliance Consultants, offers both the lecture and the field certification. All activities are conducted at Air/Compliance at U-PARC. The lecture begins at 8:00 am. The field runs begin at 10:00 am. In the event of adverse weather conditions (fog, heavy rain, lightning, etc.) the field runs could be delayed but will resume as soon as weather permits. DIRECTIONS to U-PARC from the Pennsylvania Turnpike: Exit the Turnpike at the Allegheny Valley exit (exit 48). Bear right onto Freeport Rd. towards Pittsburgh. Just before you reach the third traffic light, bear to the right onto Route 910. After the first traffic light, turn right at the first road, Gulf Lab Rd. You will see the large billboard sign for U-PARC. Continue up the hill on Gulf Lab Rd. to parking lot C, which is designated for visitors. Check in at the guard station.
