State Implementation
State-by-state acceptance of ALT-152
The use of CAA's VirtualOpacity℠ platform has federal approval. The states listed below have formally or informally indicated their acceptance of alternative opacity testing methods, including certifications conducted using ALT-152A protocol. Note that state agencies cannot explicitly endorse specific vendors or methodologies.
ALT-152A underwent validation using protocols identical to Method 9, establishing equivalent legal standing. As such, any legal challenge to ALT-152A would necessarily call into question the validity of Method 9 itself.
CAA has decades of experience in Method 9 certification. We stand firmly committed to defending all certifications we issue.
