Oklahoma Visible Emissions / Opacity Standard
The opacity limit for Oklahoma is 20% opacity; short-term occurrences: one 6-min period per 60 consecutive min, <=3 per 24 hr, never exceeding 60% for any 6-min average, as established under OAC 252:100-25-3(b); short-term occurrences (b)(1); NSPS-covered units exempt per (a).
Compliance is demonstrated via EPA Method 9 (40 CFR Part 60, Appendix A) by Certified Visible Emission Evaluator; or COMS per Performance Specification 1.
Averaging period: 6-minute block average; short-term occurrence exception: 1 per hour, ≤3 per 24 hr
Oklahoma's rule (OAC 252:100-25) covers visible emissions and particulates together. An alternative higher opacity limit is available for particulates only via public hearing if the source demonstrates BACT, mass standard compliance, and modeling showing no NAAQS impact.
